Picking up where Metal Gear Solid 3 left off, play as Naked Snake in an original story by Hideo Kojima. The high-flying series hits PSP with a predictably solid set of features. Multiplayer battles and tunable planes balance some odd omissions, though.
The title may be tough to pronounce, but this traditional JRPG wants to delight players whether they can pronounce its name or not. Based on Cartoon Network's same-titled television series, The Secret Saturdays has a mix of combat, puzzles and platforming mechanics. This deadly duo of hetero life mates are back, this time fighting their way out of Shanghai. It’s unsurprising that an anime series as popular as Naruto has spawned so many games, but what is surprising is how few are actually any good. Akatsuki Rising doesn’t buck that trend.
Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines is exactly what Assassin’s Creed fans want in a portable port of the series – provided they have the patience to tolerate the flaws of the first game. Dissidia: Final Fantasy delivers a great experience to fans with its deep storylines and presentation. For non-fans? One of the best fighting games for the portable system. A drab collection of minigames that are ridiculously annoying to unlock and not really worth the effort to play. Diehard fans will appreciate the single-card multiplayer.
A slightly beefed-up version of the DS classic, PSP Chinatown Wars lets you unleash chaos with updated graphics and new missions, though we miss the touchscreen features. Not just a remake of the PS2 original, it includes new story chapters with a new main character, new items, new skills, and some of the battle features from Disgaea 3. |
